Firstly, I recommend unsalted raw almonds (you can get them at Trader Joe's, but you can use whatever variety you like). Lay about 2 cups of almonds on a cookie sheet and bake at 375º or until you can smell a slight roasted almond smell. Be careful and watch them, you don't want burnt almonds. While they are in the oven, prep your food processor.
Now that they are out of the oven dump all of the HOT almonds into the food processor.
Put the lid on and let blend. Don't be discouraged, this is the part that takes the longest. It will be thick and chunky but just stop every 44-50 seconds to scrape down rhe sides.
See, this doesn't look like almond butter... but it is!
Keep processing :)
Almost there! It is looking more like a paste every second! Make sure to scrape the sides l one more time. This is where you are going to want to add anything if you want to (stevia, organic maple syrup, cocoa??)
Yummy!!!
and voila, almond butter! Super easy, super healthy!
